Dr. Mohammad Sahadet Hossain is a dedicated teacher and a visionary administrator who believes in the power of human capacity and integrity to change human life in a positive way. He knows how important a knowledge-based society is for any sustainable development.
Dr. Mohammad Sahadet Hossain is currently a Professor and the Chairman of the Department of Mathematics and Physics at North South University (NSU). Before taking the responsibility of the Chairman, he worked as an Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), a World Bank-funded project, at NSU (January 2016 to December 2019). Prior to his joining at NSU, he worked as a postdoctoral research scientist at the world renowned International Max-Planck Institute (MPI) for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Magdeburg, Germany, from 2011 to 2012.
Dr. Hossain received his PhD from Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC), Germany in 2011. Before his PhD at TUC, he received his MS from Dhaka University in Applied Mathematics, and B.Sc. in Mathematics from the same university with highest distinctions in 2005 and 2003, respectively. He spent his valuable higher secondary at Norte Dame College, Dhaka, and his secondary schooling at Abdullapur M/L High School in Tongibari, Munshiganj. Dr. Hossain worked in several research projects funded by the World Bank and the UGC, Bangladesh. He has also accomplished several successful projects with the Federal Government of Germany (Federal Ministry of Education and Research Fund, Germany; German Research Foundation Fund, and DAAD).
Dr. Hossain serves as an executive member of Bangladesh Mathematical Society. He is an enlisted Quality Assurance (QA) expert of UGC, Bangladesh. He is a trainer of OBE based education in Bangladesh. In last several years, he has presented his research works and valuable talks in more than 15 countries around the world.
